The Babylonians are said to have started the tradition during Akitu, a 12-day New Year celebration , A similar practice occurred in ancient Rome, after the reform-minded emperor Julius Caesar tinkered with the calendar and established January 1 as the beginning of the new year circa 46 B.C. Though New Year Resolution gives people some hope to look forward , yet studies show that 8% accomplish their resolutions .
25% stay committed for 30 days and the rest fail . The question is “ Why they fail ?” I believe resolutions are vague and tend to be broad , whereas goals are specific ,more actionable which makes them more effective .
To set a goal , understand deeply why you want this goal , what motivates you to achieve sustained progress and remind yourself with the 3Ms : Mindset – Motivation –Methods
2020 was a year of unknown challenges we had many setbacks , but we learned to live the present current reality .
