فرح لا تملك من الفرح سوى الاسم. منذ أن فقدت زوجها ليلة عيد الميلاد، تعيش "إمّ البنات" في جوٍّ من الفقر والأسى والخوف الدائم من جارها الذي يرغب في طردها من منزلها. حين تقبل فرح بالمشاركة في معرض ميلاديّ لبيع الحلويات، تتعرّف على مايكل، وهو شاب ثريّ متفاءل بالحياة. لقاءٌ سيغيّر حياتها ونظرتها للأمور ولمعنى العيد. The grumpy widow Farah, mother of three girls, agrees to sell pastries in a Christmas market where she meets the young and handsome Michael.
