The ruins of The Temple of Jupiter (the largest Roman temple ever built) are part of the Baalbek UNESCO World Heritage Site. The modern town of Baalbek is known for being one of the strongholds of the Hezbollah political party which many countries class as a terrorist organisation.

These lion heads were once part of the system for removing rainwater from the roof of the temple.
