– Richard Gavin Gardiner (R.G.) Casey, Baron Casey KG, inspected this guard of honour prior to embarking on a guided tour of the ancient Phoenician & Roman ruins located a short distance away in Baalbek.
– The map geo-location I have used is a "best guess" approximation, unless someone can miraculously recognize exactly where in the town of Baalbek this shot was taken (I suspect somewhere reasonably close to the temple ruins).

– The original of this very rare image was captured by my late father-in-law, Driver Tom Beazley of the Australian Army 2/4 Anti Malaria Control Unit, 9 Division, 2nd Australian Imperial Force, using a folding Kodak Brownie camera with 120 roll film while on a period of extended leave with a group of his unit mates.
